So I’ve gotten around to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens and how was it? That is something I will talk more about, but firstly what is this movie about? And don’t worry, I will keep this as spoiler free as possible, but since anything can literally be taken as spoilers, for those of you that are afraid of that, I recommend going watch the movie before this review.

Set thirty years after the events where the Galactic Empire has been destroyed, The Republic is trying to find Luke who has been missing, why has he been missing? That is quite the mystery which the new characters we get to follow are trying to figure out.

Rey, a scavenger from the planet Jakku and Finn, a Stormtrooper who for some reason has left the First Order, an empire risen from the ashes of the old and the small new droid known as BB-8.

They are being followed by the villain Kylo-Ren and he is a good villain. You understand why he is doing the things he’s doing, the choices of his actions as well as why he acts in a certain way.

All the characters are portrayed fantastic and there are some really good, genuine humor in some places.

Film has good characters, great acting, great film set pieces (both CGI and practical effects) and the music is just lovely to hear.

The set pieces and certain scenes are breathtaking to watch and enjoy as they play out.

The great positive thing about this film is that it both looks and feels like an actual film. This is a movie that you can go in watching without having watched any other of the other prequels.

However, no film is without its flaws and there are some in this movie, maybe not some that will have a major impact, but for me I left the cinema with a feeling of déjà vu.

Overall, this movie is a good film and I do recommend you to go watch if you’re a fan of the Star Wars franchise, or at least just interested and have nothing else you want to watch at the moment.
