Have you heard the rumors? A new patch for Final Fantasy XIV is coming and it is quite exciting news.
So on 29th of september, Square Enix put out on both their blog – also known as the Lodestone – as well as their Youtube channel, for what seemed to be the newest trailer to upcoming patch 4.1, after the last Letter from Developers which get streamed on their Twitch channel for every patch that comes with new updates to the game of Final Fantasy.
In this blog post Square Enix details this:
“Zenos yae Galvus is no more, and the people of Ala Mhigo are free at last. Now they must reconcile with their past as they pave the way to a brighter future.
But as the bells of liberty ring in Gyr Abania, the clarion call of adventure beckons from across the Ruby Sea. Search for the fabled realm of Ivalice in a new alliance raid developed in conjunction with Yasumi Matsuno and Keita Amemiya, or explore the briny deep in the Drowned City of Skalla.
Great trials and still greater rewards await, and today we offer you a sneak peek at what’s to come in Patch 4.1─The Legend Returns!”
What is worth noting is that a new chapter in the story following the end of Stormblood expansion (which I’m still going through Heavensward but have kept up to date with the newest expansion, with blogs, videos, streams and articles). The main villain is gone and as it seems like the Hero of Light with all “its” (emphasis on it, since it’s both a female and male in the eye of the player but usually a male by the developers CG videos) allies. A new adventure calls from the realm of Ivalice.
Here we get to see that a new raid can be played, new dungeons to loot, a whole new area to explore and many new items to acquire.
Personally I look forward to the new patch and see what it’s all about, even though I’m still catching up to current content on my main. It will be tough but exciting to see what’s beyond the sea to be discovered as I love this game and consider it to be one of the best MMORPG to this day that has stand the test of time and come out stronger in the end.
Being able to explore new areas, acquire new gear, fight new monsters and bosses with completely newly written story and music to boot. If nothing else, it would be a great time sink to in a way escape other stuff.
You can watch the FINAL FANTASY XIV Letter from the Producer if you are up for the whole livestream, but beware that it’s all in Japanese with no subtitles or translators…just putting it out there as a warning before venturing in.
If nothing else, you can read it here and watch the trailer here. I will make another post once the patch comes live and go into little more detail on what exactly has been changed for the many classes (or jobs in the game) as well as many other features that comes and goes away.
However, what do you think about this? Tell me down in the comments below.
Stay Cozy and have a nice day!
